Biotechnology 395102H Honors Career Ed, Elective Biotechnology is the study and manipulation of living things or their component molecules, cells, tissues, or organs. Honors Biotechnology introduces students to the tools and techniques used in biotechnology including recombinant DNA technology, polymerase chain reaction, electrophoresis, ELISA, and Western Blot. The course will explore the clinical applications of biotechnology in the fields of forensics, agriculture, and pharmacology. Students will research the bio-ethical implications associated with the use of biotechnology in order to evaluate the impacts of science and technology on society and the environment. Students will also be introduced to the different career opportunities in the field of biotechnology.
