Calculus 491101H Honors Career Ed, Elective, Advanced Math (*for Pre 9th Grade Algebra/Geometry students) Honors Calculus is intended for high achieving students who have a passion for studying mathematics. The course extends the opportunity for students to take an in-depth look at complex problems, the theoretical ideas behind them and developing and implementing strategies to solve them. Topics include function, graphs, limits, derivatives and integrals.

In an honors class, students will be expected to develop more advanced problem-solving methods and precisely communicate their in-depth understanding of the mathematical concepts covered. Students will also be asked to make connections across mathematical ideas while justifying their thinking and strategies. Successful completion of Honors Calculus will prepare students for Advanced Placement Calculus or college level coursework in mathematics.
