The Pet Care Pro badge shows that this learner has completed the Standards of Pet Care session of The Anti-Cruelty Society's After School Advocates program with no more than 2 absences. In this 5-week course, learners are taught about laws that protect our pets, as well as how to care for different species of animals. Through lectures by guest speakers and hands-on activities, participants will gain insight into different careers and organizations that help animals in need. Youth will also be assigned an adoptable shelter animal at The Anti-Cruelty Society as a "Pet Care Sponsor." Throughout the program, they will spend allotted time creating animal care kits, which they will distribute to their assigned animals to help alleviate shelter stress.
